Help video on hard drive of camcorder

I am trying to make DVD's of my kids sporting events. But for while now when i try to pull up the clips in windows movie maker and even in adobe premier. It tells me its write protected.

It hasnt always been like that. But when using WMM i have been able to it stop from popping up after canceling. But not in AP. I need to figure out why this is happening.

The camera is a Panasonic HDC-HS250
