I tend to take shots, remove the CF card to put in a hi-speed reader to view photos on my mac, then put the card back in the camera. Alot.

Is this dumb? Would I be wiser to connect via cable to USB port instead of removing the CF card all the time in order to prevent accidental pin damage (rare, but it does happen) to the CF slot in the camera? Or perhaps switch to the SD card for regular insert-eject activities?

Just wondering what the likelihood is of damaging the pins. I know the 5DMk3 has an easier and cheaper to replace CF slot mechanism than previous versions of the 5D, but still, anything I can do to reduce the risk of damage is worth considering.
