Shooting into the Sun - Image alert!

Shot this last Saturday (12th May 2012) but only got time to PP it this weekend.

Camera was a 5d2, I used a 2nd hand white light solar filter (cost £30 I think) & shot prime focus on my 'scope.

This was my first experience of observing & shooting the sun - the post processing is a tad OTT but I am lacking the skills to bring out the surface detail any other way, so I figured I might as well exaggerate it.......I kind of like the effect, but understand if others don't.

The dark patches are sunspots - solar storms, the big one on this image I heard someone say is the largest for the past 10 years - the Sun is coming up to a peak in an 11 year cycle of activity.
