With the internal flash (which I also think is a must), WB is mostly fine. The problem are external flashes (580 and 270). For reasons beyond my horizon, Canon appears to believe that images taken with a G and a flash need to be on the "warm," side. Yet, Custom White balance has no problem getting it right 95% of the time. That's one of the the things I like about the Sony NEX3: WB with flash is always spot on.

Lately, I have decided that I don't care that much anymore about WB when I take the image. Since for some time now I am bouncing the flash off any kind of surface that is near me (don't care about the color of that surface too much), WB is done on DPP.
