Why just test reading scores?
In reply to Bill Force, May 20, 2012

Your post implies that there is "something good" about being able to read at the proper level for one's age. And implies that this is what our schools are supposed to accomplish.

But this isn't their goal anymore. Skills like reading, science, history, literature, geography and math are no longer our top priorities in our public schools.

We now put the emphasis on diversity training, feminism, environmental alarmism, revisionist history, gay awareness, black history, and other politically correct topics.

So perhaps we should test for these skills instead?

IF those students are failing in these new subjects, then we can honestly say our schools are doing a poor job.

We simply cannot jump to a conclusion of failure until we start testing our student's competency in these new subjects that are the core curriculum now.
