Hi,
Speaking about the 2000 mAH Eneloops (don't know about the others): There is more than long shelf live. They also have a little higher voltage than the others. That esp. comes into play with equipment made for normal 1.5 volt batteries. It takes a bit longer for Eneloops to fall below the threshold where the equipment thinks: they are empty. In these cases the voltage is more important than the amperes. A battery can still be 80%, but when the voltage is too low, it's useless.
