Thanks Bob,

I seem to be missing something. Here is what I see when I try to back-up the C-drive (data and MBR) in True Image 2012 with my external USB HD connected:

I am not sure on what to do next. It was very clear in my 2009 version, but not sure on what to click on in the newer version. I wonder if they have an online video tutorial?

Mike, I use TI Home 2010, however I think I know what your problem is. With TI Home, you have the option of making either a Disk Backup or a Data Backup. A Disk Backup (what I suspect you made) only asks what drive letter you want to backup (C:, D:, etc.). A Data Backup asks you what files or folders you want to include in the backup.

Note that if you did in fact make a Disk Backup, you can mount the image as a drive and see the contents of the entire drive (all the files/folders), so you have a way of extracting any files or folders you want.
