As I understand it, ACR 6.x uses the engine of LR 3.y, and ACR 7.x uses the engine of LR 4.y.

So yes, you can do the same in PS.

And no, you should not get the same results in Creative Suite Photoshop v5 as you do in v6.

I like the library functions of LR, so I use that to process RAWs and then export to PS. You can do it all in PS with ACR if you like.
