I have no idea, haven't seen the article, so can't comment. However, one thing I can say for sure is that it produces files that have nothing in common to the M9. If it is the same sensor then the lack of the Bayer filter and the new processing algorithms are producing an amazing looking file.

As far as it is Leica politics - it's not strange to assume it's still the old sensor.

In the latest LFI - magazine the Monochrom is detailed described including the sensor...an between the lines you can read that's it seems to be the same old sensor, slightly modified.
