85 seems to win but i dont want one

That indeed seems to be the case. The 85 1.8 is a winner all around. For my purposes though I dont want to get an 85 as I tend to rarely shoot traditional portraits and if i want to I will use my 70-200 2.8 II at 85. I will see how the 50 1.4 does and hopefully it can deliver good results.
