The Last Station - Leederville.   X10

Western Australia, the last station on the Clarkson to Perth City centre rail line is Leederville.

Arriving at 6pm, with the sunlight beginning to fail, Advanced Low Light worked beautifully, even the final 'stutter' in the passing cars pleased my eye. Using a hood-loupe attached to the rear of the camera gave me a good viewfinder in these conditions.

The aesthetic of this place is primarily a display of engineering, the old Italian modernist engineer and architect Pier Luigi Nervi would be pleased, the addition of the correlated iron softens the structure and adds the word shed to the visual language.

As this is the last in the series, it is worth noting, like much of modernism as it has presented worldwide, the stations in this series present as if no one really belongs - the architectural message is clear, if you want to belong to your environment, the place for that is home.

Off on the short trip too the Perth City Centre underground.
