Windows 7 upgrade question

I ordered the hard drive and hard copy of Windows 7 upgrade last night, so I have the disk on hand. I should be attempting this upgrade within a week or two, depending on when everything arrives. I will post an update for anyone seeking to perform a similar procedure on their computer.

One final thought at this moment though. Could I have saved some money just downloading the upgrade and making my own disk? Didn't quite trust myself with that so I payed extra for the disk to be sent, but starting wondering a bit after I did.
