The Nikon tubes have a much larger diameter inner baffle tube which don't vignette. Off brand tubes have a smaller diameter inner tube which basically cast a shadow in the corners. Nikon still hasn't made updated tubes. With the old manual tubes, there is no way to control the aperture on newer afs lenses.
