OK, I got a D800 and sold all my old gear. This includes a Nikon d7000, Epson R-D1s, Canon Xti, and 6 lenses. With all that sold I have no backup camera, and I am finding I need a camera to walk around with at the bars, night walks, and something to have when traveling light. SO I am getting the XP1, this is pretty much the same camera as the D7000 but lighter. Its the perfect sit for me. I DO recommend the D800, its blown me away so far. I hate to say get it but I think you should. I know you will be happy. I dont shoot with zooms unless I rent them for weddings. I mainly use a prime or two. So I pack light always. Maybe consider not getting all those 2.8 zooms? good luck.
