While I am not so patiently waiting for my back ordered OM-D, I still think of the soon to materialize G5 as a good alternative to my old G1. With the G5 I would get the 14-42X lens (hopefully a good version). I have been reading the likely rumors that the new camera will contain the same sensor as in the G3. What is the point then unless perhaps something else will make the camera better? Anyone have any thoughts on this?
The sensor isn't everything, the image processor makes the hard job, if they will use a new processor , the quality difference could be significant.
Think about the G1 - Ep1, they used the same panasonic sensor, but Olimpus had somewhat higher quality because of different image processor. (jpeg only).
Of course firmware optimizations, and sensor filters have a word in the final...
