Nikon 35 f/1.8DX on FF D700?

What's the story with using the Nikon 35mm F/1.8 DX on the D700?

Is it 100% usable, or is there significant vignetting?

I have the chance to get one very reasonable, and I don't have a 35mm prime walkabout lens.
I would also benefit by having it available for use on my D7000.
