Canon should sell m43 lenses
In reply to Peter Nelson, May 16, 2012

Canon should sell m43 lenses, for their own benefit.

All Canon has to do, is sell for instance, a 25mm F/1.2 prime in "L" quality, with OIS. And sell it for $400.

Guess what ... Panasonic would loose money on every Leica 25mm lens. And that would really burn them.

And since the lenses would be cheaper, and better, people would think: Hmmm .... Canon are better than Lumix/Panasonic/Leica.

One of the basics of corporate strategy, is to target the profitable sector of a competitors's business, and leave the low profit and loss making areas alone.

And good lenses are a high profit making area IMO.

So ... why don't Canon and Nikon sell m43 lenses?

Answer: its a closed shop, and Panasonic and Olympus would not allow them a license unless they sold at similar prices. Hence the reasons for entering, loose the appeal for Canikon.

Sorry - it ain't going to happen, but Canikon would love to I'd bet.
