I'm saying you will see a huge difference in quality with a full-frame canon camera. Even a used 5D. I"m sure that Tamron 24-74 will be fine.

Seriously, don't get a manual focus lens for your camera. Even with my 5DmkII it is hard to get the focus right manually. Spend the extra $100 and get an canon EF 85mm F1.8. It has super-fast focus and is sharp. You will thank me later.
