Agreed.

The Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 is your absolute best bet if you do not want to use flash.

The only other lens I would recommend is the Canon 10-22..but you mentioned you wanted faster than f/3.5..so obviously that would be a no go..

its either tokina with no flash.. or canon 10-22 with some fill flash or bumping you ISO up.

Goodluck.. check some image reviews for the Tokina though, I'm sure you will be pleased.
