How are legacy telephotos on m4/3?
May 14, 2012

So, I like to shoot wildlife. I also like Olympus cameras, as they tend to do sensible things like put buttons where you can get at them and include sensible features like a non-crap jpeg engine and IBIS. (Canon, I'm looking at you...)

Right now I use the 50-200 on E-30 to do that. Long story short, my 50-200 is screwed up, and probably not worth fixing. I could get another 50-200, but if I'm going to do that I'm possibly locking myself out of Olympus' new sensor and such, locking myself out of having a real wildlife lens short of the 300/2.8 (since Olympus doesn't make a 300/4), and I might as well just switch systems.

I could also get a legacy lens -- a Nikon 300/2.8 ED, say, or a 400/3.5 -- and an EM-5.

Has anyone shot these ancient superteles on m4/3? How is the handling? Is it possible to manually focus them easily in the EVF? How is the image quality?
