What is up with the wacky constraint that if the eye sensor is disabled, the EVF is forced to "mode 1"? Makes no sense to me. If not for that, I'd just turn off the eye sensor.
I was planning to disable the eye sensor when I get my E-M5 for the same reason as you. What is this about mode 1???
Mode 3 (which is what I meant to say) overlays some info over the image. I far prefer mode 1 or 2, which keep the settings outside the frame. For some reason, with the eye sensor disabled, you're stuck with mode 3.
It seems everyday I am reading of more bugs and more weird/bad firmware choices. I hope that since is the flagship Olympus is working feverishly to fix this stuff. I know, I know, hope is not a strategy.
It's not, and I'd love to know how to get someone's attention over there to this sort of issue.
I haven't found any bugs, but there are definitely some strange choices in the firmware.
