You have not put these statements to the test. Bride's white dress: no difference. None. Zip. Nilch. Between 12 and 14 bit. Unless you've underexposed by so many stops the picture is unrecoverable.

Groom black tuxedo: 12 vs 14 bit won't make a difference unless the image is underexposed by a fair amount.
