D800e for sports

I love the crop ability of this camera. I shot the original shot at 125mm with my 70 200VR 1 lens, and cropped the center area which I figure is pretty close to what I would get at 500mm and still have close to a 5mb file. I realize I would have a much larger file if I had the 500mm attached to my camera, but I would probably miss a shot like this with that much weight on my camera. Comments and opinions welcome. Dave
