Crop vs. FF equivalent with class L

I might get the Tamron...

I could really use the IS for weddings and indoor events on my 5DmkII. Plus, my version of the 24-70 isn't the sharpest lens in my bag by far - so I probably won't miss much if the Tamron isn't prime-sharp.
