None of my photos with any lenses I used were perfectly sharp on my D7k, but since I didn't use it much, I didn't really realize it until I took it on a vacation trip to Kennedy Space Center and nearly all of the photos were sort of in focus but not the usual sharpenss I am used to.

I shipped it off to the NY factory service plant and they replaced the SQ base plate on mine and did a lot of fiddling with the mirror and AF calibration.

It is definately better since it came back, but low light AF and telephoto AF performance is still inferior to my D300. Tracking fast moving subjects (birds in flight, planes at an air show) is also hit and miss.

I really love the photosensor on this camera, but am getting increasingly frustrated by its AF performance--and I've experimented with every possible AF-C setting and between swapping around the AF-ON switch and shutter AE/AF lock.
