Lightroom update

I just loaded my new LR4 and then went to "HELP" and "UPDATE".

The program told me that my software was up to date. I was sure I saw something about LR4.1 in this forum, so I phoned Adobe. They said that 4.1 is a beta and my program will not download the update until it is oiffically released.

I just want to check with the forum if anyone knows if this is true. The Tech contradicted himself a couple of times and I am not sure that my program is functioning correctly--any info appreciated.
