I do portrait the same way I do landscape. Left hand under and cupping the lens and camera bottom and right hand on the side, elbows tucked in and eye pressed to the viewfinder creating a tripod. If that's not comfy, it will be.

I want to add that I think these are stunning images of your daughter and I love them. If I could give one tip and this is from a guy with a bad back, get down on the child's level as you do in one of them. The other three has you shooting down at the child. Now, it's ok sometimes for the composition as in one where's she is looking up with a cute look on her face, but generally you want the camera at the child's eye level. Make sense?
