If you allow the camera to take pictures without card inserted and just press and hold the shutter the silent mode will double the life of the shutter mechanism - thats logic!!!
6 frames a second gives 360 frames a minute. 360 frames a minute gives 21.600 shots an hour. In 7 hours you'll wear out the shutter at normal mode with 151.200 actuations - pretty scary - huh.
3 frames a second in silent mode gives 180 frames a minute. 180 frames a minute gives 10.800 shots an hour. In 14 hours you've reached the shutters expected life. So logic tells me, that i only need two cameras to take pictures for a whole day in silent mode.
At 30 MB/pic in RAW you sould only buy about 45 TB of harddisk-drives to store all pictures as single copys - that's scary too - especially if you do backup!!!
Simple math, simple logic, but couldn't resist
