Replacement for Canon A650 IS

Was there a successor to the Canon PowerShot A650 IS? I've had this camera for almost four years and it's starting to fail me (low battery warning all the time). Other than that it's been great. I love the flip screen, AA batteries and it fits nicely in my hands.

Can anyone recommend a replacement/successor?

I've seen the G12, but I think that's more camera than I need.

Prefer not to spend more than $400. Used mostly for vacations/landscapes and pets.
