Canon FD 50mm 1.2 vs Canon FD 50mm 1.2 L ? Is there a difference?

Recently got a Canon FD 50mm 1.2 non L version. I was curious if anyone knew what the difference was between image quality and build? Since i have only one of them i have no way to compare the L version to the Non-L.
Anybody every try out both?
