Yeah, that might add to the problem. The images with naked lens appear to be fine though.

I really think he has a faulty teleconverter. If the teleconverter works as it should, no pro or serious photographer would use Nikon 2x converter. Do they? The 300/2.8 + 2x images are just rubbish and so are the 200/2 + 2x and 500/4 + 2x images. I think these are considered about the best Nikkor lenses there are. If that's the 2x IQ, they can not be used with 2x teleconverter.

a sharpening setting of 1 is added to Canon shots. Nikon images are processed in Nikon ViewNX with a sharpness setting of 0.

As well Capture NX is the program considered the best RAW converter while ViewNX is a simple free program and not what one would use to assess images critically.

The tester is a Canon shooter and freely admits that he's more experienced in processing Canon RAW files.
