5D ii 2 Live View questions

1. Seems that once you're in live view, you can't use autofocus, so I tend to focus, then set to live view. I guess you can manual focus in live view, though. Anyone do that?
2. Isn't live view the same as mirror lock-up for purposes of reducing camera vibration while shooting on a tripod?
