There is no doubt that the 60 G lens is very very sharp, and without distortion. One of the best from Nikon, in my opinion.
That said, I find it extremely difficult to find fault with the 50 1.8G as well. At f2.8, I'd say there is practically no difference in sharpness between these 2 lenses, but the 50mm wins in having nearly no vignetting compared to quite severe vignetting wide open on the 60mm (FX). That may be OK for some but a serious defect for others.
Considering that the 50mm is less than half the price of the 60mm, it is a no-brainer unless you really need the macro function.
Just my 2 cents.
