Canon 18-135 mount problem

Hi,
I've just got the 18-135 for my 500D and noticed that it's hard to mount on the body. All other lenses I have mount smoothly and flawlessly but this 18-135 you need more strenght when rotating, as if it's scratching too much the metallic ring on the body.
Haven't found anyone with this problem, so wondering if it can be normal or I should send it back
