I'm actually researching for my first camera. I like the shallow dof

A shallow depth of field is not just about a wide aperture and sensor size. It also involves the focal length, distance to subject, and the distance of elements behind the subject. So don't choose a DSLR based on which one can provide the narrowest DoF.

All other things being equal, dof is proportional to crop factor. Double CF, double DOF.

A 1.6 cf camera has about 7% greater dof than a 1.5 cf camera all else being equal (1.6 is about 7% greater than 1.5).
