Thanks for the replys. As somewhat of a digital noob, I was focused to much on the 1.8 and assumed with that speed shallow DOF more achievable than what it has turned out to be. No biggy, I still love the camera for what it is, I'll either have to get better at composition or leave the portrait work to the pro's.
