D7000 like a plastic toy...

The problem we're having is that the D7000 does not look or feel like a plastic toy, that is simply nonsense and the title of the thread is insulting in a forum named after it. It is heavy and well constructed for the long haul just like the D90 before it. It also might not be a pleasant experience for you to compare 100% crops from the D7000 at lower than 800 ISO with a D700, because the former is slightly cleaner and sharper at less than half the price.

The D5100/3100 is the class of camera which feels lightweight and is built to a price point which nevertheless will outlast 99% of their users until the next upgrade. I've played with my forthcoming D800 at the store and it is bigger and heavier by a bit, but not much better built if at all.
