Compare moons.

There were a lot of things I liked shooting with my compact travel zoom, the TZ5, but close-ups of the moon were not generally on that list.

For my own use, I found the GH2 with the Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L served my purposes better.

The same camera with Canon the 600mm f/4 and Extender EFIII 2X was a lot better still, but too heavy to carry around for general use (unlike the 100-400mm).
