Again, I agree with the others. The raw files are the only versions I keep!

Many, many times I come back to my best images and tweak them some more.

LR4 has the ability to get greater dynamic range out of high-contrast images, and to recover a lot more detail in highlights, but you can't do that unless you keep the raw.

Hard drives are pretty cheap. Depending on camera, raw files are typically 10-20Mb, or room for at least 100,000 on a 2TB drive costing around $100 (for an internal drive). I make that 0.1 cents per raw file. And by the time you've filled up that drive, you'll be able to replace it with a 4TB drive at probably a lower price.
