There are no vertical blinds in the room. Actually the room is the center room in our apartment and has no windows at all. There is a mixture of lights in the room; a UV bulb, halogen track and standard, but why this would cause this type of banding is beyond me.

To answer questions about conversion. This is definitely NOT a jpeg artifact. These are JPEG's exported from RAW imported into Lightroom 4.1 RC2. They are imported at DEFAULT settings with no changes. I have not tried another RAW converter, but I will try that and report the results.

I was NOT shooting with a WiFi card. Just straight from SD and into the Macbook Pro.

To make things even more strange, it seems wholly inconstant. See the attached shots at various ISO.
