I look at it this way. M43 may very well disappear "long term". But, what is long term? If it's 10+ years, then who cares. M43 is hot enough today with the Pens, OMD, and current and upcoming lenses that I have only optimism for the format for the next 3-5 years. Beyond that, we'll see what the future brings. I'm not worried.

But, I also think that it's gotten good enough that the vast majority of camera buyers don't need the benefits of a larger sensor anyway. I think M43 is the sweet spot for sensors. That's why I'm slowly parting with my APSC kit and starting to build an M43 kit instead. Nice compact bodies and lenses, good quality, what's not to love about it? My wife and kids always want to borrow the Pen, because "it takes great pictures". No one ever wants to use one of my DSLRs or their compacts anymore.
