Weathersealing actually allows you to shoot in bad weather!

Talk to anyone who have an E-3 or E-5, hear what they have put it through (I would advice asking in Olympus SLR forum for this), the E-M5 goes to the same spec, so yes, you can shoot in a rainstorm with the camera and the kit lens (and soon the 60mm macro too...) You can also shoot in a snow storm or don't worry about it standing on a surface with a few mm of water on it (like a table top after heavy rain)

What you describe is what I do with my E-P1, I even take it out in a light drizzle.
