I fell over backwards and my tripod mounted 50D hit the ground so hard it broke the lens (Sigma 180 macro) off at the mount. It put a dent in the back right hand corner of the body. Remarkably when I attached another lens the camera still worked. I sent it in for repair. The rear portion of the body was replaced and a new lens mount plate was installed. Labor cost was $600 and parts were $60 at Canon, NJ. Camera has worked perfectly since. Sigma lens repair $240. Fortunately I had insurance coverage which paid all bills and shipping.

Wild, I did the same thing. My camera 7D hit the concrete and cracked the metal housing. The dial on top would not turn and when I finally forced it to turn the on off switch would also move. But, I attached the lenses and re-calibrated the micro adjust, and off to the races. That happened 4 months ago. Lens calibration is off from 10 to 20+. Now when I want to change the top dial I hold the on off switch and push down to re-alien that section and no problem what so ever.. LOL..
I only have two lenses for Canon mount though.
