Thank you very much, this means, I can get the Nikon D5100 + the 35mm F/1.8 and lose nothing much, for not getting say, the Sony A57 (the in body image stabilization sounds very tempting for me, for handheld low light indoor shots)..?

Please close all but one thread because responses will now go on all three at different rationale and different subjects. This forum the subject starts and then drifts and all three threads could drift from their subject and what if they are all one subject?

It is confusing to responders and confusing to you.

You are choosing between the D5100 with 35mm f/1.8 the A57 with what lens?

You are asking and reading a lot and it is causing your criteria to fly all over the place. What is missing is actual experience - this you cannot get from words and theory.

Let's put it this way. You heard that someone says you should marry a girl with great big bazonkas. Another person says you should marry a girl with a lot of dough. Another says you should marry a girl with a brain like Einstein.

So you make a tick box and check every girl against the three criteria and get confused that none of them actually fit all three criteria.

That's not how to choose a camera or a girl.

P.S. Are we on the same page - are you asking about image stabilisation of your moving son? Is the subject moving?
