The important lesson to learn here is that a photographer who handles other's property should have bailee coverage in addition to property damage coverage. Property damage covers other's property that is not in the care, custody, or control of the photographer, like if you drop your camera and it dents someone's car. Bailee coverage protects the photographer who damages another's property that the photography has temporary possession of, is holding, etc. Fortunately in the case the OP points to, the photographer is in the clear as he did not cause the damage. Lucky him!
