Requesting software alternate for intervalometer - 60D

Question:
I need a software that adds an interval setting in my camera.
I have a Canon 60d and am trying to learn timelapse. I couldn't get an intervalometer from around and it'll take time before I get it... and my camera's built-in timer works only with EOS utility. Besides, I want to try the timelapse in karakorum range so I can't possibly carry my laptop high up in camps or use it for over 2 hours on battery. So I need a software/upgrade/fix that adds an interval setting in my camera menu. I can live with a remote shutter release or may be use self timer but a remote timer is not possible. Can someone help with this?
