Street photography needs lots of courage - especially in a country such as the US where the population is conditioned to be wary of people capturing their image.

I think your shot would benefit from being closer and wider. While maintaining the same FOV, this would further immerse the viewer in the image and enhance the feeling of intimacy. This is where the photographer's courage comes in.
