Well I think in theory sharpening compared to actually getting the 'real information' in the image to begin with is very different.

Sharpening is manipulating what picture that you already have to appear 'less blur' whereas with actual non having an AA filter, it will give you 'real' added sharpness (because pictures are not blurred on purpose by the filter) hence in theory it should offer clearer pictures.

But then again, if we're just printing postcard sizes and viewing the pics on the screen, not sure if it actually matters that much though. But I personally like to have sharper pics to start with that's why it's the D800e that I pre ordered.
