That's not a camera issue. If you don't know the very basics of photography, you'd have this focus problem for regular shots, too.

And as far as banding in panoramas, I have tried setting shutter and aperture manually, while also turning Auto-ISO off. It still messes up occasionally.

It's easier to avoid banding by choosing appropriate lighting situations in which to use it. I find outdoor, daylight images easiest. Outdoor, evening/night images are extremely difficult, particularly when well-lit buildings are present.
