To the OP: Sorry to hear this, nothing more disappointing than waiting and then...

I agree Louis, although I've used mine to effect at times with my EPL1..I've also ruined a few leaving it on at a 60th or 100th, inadvertently. A post, tree, bench or a rock makes a good IBIS even without a tripod, as does sitting at a table with a persons elbows for support. IS adds complexity, which to me is always problematical, and for anything moving at all, it's not effective. It's OK I guess, but my own opinion is that I could live without it.
